Wine & tracks with Mouloud Ourabah

The crossing is very natural to him. When you are passionate about one or the other field you will looks for labels, producers and influences. Former DJ nanny for the famous night place Concrete, Mouloud is now cellar man for the Chateaubriand restaurant in Paris. He helped us to pair 5 of his favorite bottles with 5 tracks.

Cuvée Jeanne - Théodore Planas-Rastoin

(Bourboulenc. White Grenache, Panse-muscade)

A true gem. All I like in a wine : texture, minerality, and this impression it was made in Jura and not in Bouches du Rhone. You never want to see the last drop coming, like this track that sensually accompanies each sip.

Track : The Longest Road – Gaussian Curve

Merlot 2003 - Dario Prinčič

(Vénétie. Merlot)

A wine as deep and dark as the track. A confit wine, supple with melted tannins. This blending is to be appreciated on the long shot. These two compositions strike you in this polar atmosphere.

Track : Last night the moon came – Jon Hassell

Côte de Brouilly 2016, Gamay - Alex Foillard

(Beaujolais. Gamay)

A bottle fit to ride : lightness, fruit, solid structure, exactly like this track. If you warm up your night with these two, hard to spend a bad one.

Track : Cardigan – Don Toliver

Petites orgues 2015 - Frédéric Gounan

(Auvergne. Domaine de l’arbre blanc. Black Pinot)

Acid tones are important on these ones. It brings a perfect balance and a rising tension. Picture yourself frowning when you are 100% focused on something you like, same here ;-).

Track : Die_Starke_Der_Vernichtenden_Schlage – Rude 66

Le rosé - Domaine Ligas

(Grèce. Xinomavro)

I am not fond of rosé like people use to drink it, but this one is a treat. Slightly acid, it is a true surprise for many, a nice slap in the face, exactly like this track from Ta-Ra. Hard for me to explain the pairing with words, it as a matter of feeling on this one.

Track : 5D – Ta-ra
