WE MADE A LEAP
From Brooklyn to Tokyo. We couldn’t find the craftsmanship we were looking for in the US to make the wallets, bags and notebooks we dreamed of using ourselves. We started walking around Tokyo. Friends gave us some hints of places to check out. Not every craftsperson we met wanted to try something new. Gradually we built a community of people and customers that wanted to make and use the things we ourselves wanted. That was 20 years ago.

SQUEEZED TO DEATH… BY PANTS?
We shop with our eyes. But maybe it’s better to let our bodies decide?
Postalco makes clothes that allow a free range of motion. No elastic fabrics that feel rubbery and break down quickly. We invented a new kind of shirt and pants that doesn’t hold you back when you reach to tie your shoes or jump on a bike.

BALANCING DIGITAL WITH PAPER
Paper never runs out of battery. Paper never pings you at awkward moments. It’s a tool that works. We make pens and notebooks so you can keep your thoughts.

LEARNING FROM JAPAN
We can’t keep throwing everything away. Every Postalco item is made in Japan. The attention to detail in Japan transforms our ideas into things people love to use. Things that age well, travel with you and become part of your life. We create items with warmth that are informed by our research into bodily movement.
