The word Heimat is a German word with no direct translation. Heimat is a place where you feel the most comfortable, a place that evokes a sense of belonging or security. It can be triggered by a smell or a moment of calm you get whilst you do what you love doing.

Famous for its engineering, Germany exports excellent automobiles and industrial equipment. But what about Knitwear? Heimat was founded in 2016 by Christian Hofmann and is now run by him and his wife. His label boasts a suite of Naval-inspired headwear and knits and a tagline that reinforces the country’s reputation for fine manufacturing: “Qualitätsprodukte,” which translates plainly to “quality products.”
