How did Forét come to be?

Jesper and I (Jeppe) grew up as friends in a small village in the Danish countryside, and we had the idea to start this brand long before it existed.

Jesper and I (Jeppe) grew up as friends in a small village in the Danish countryside, and we had the idea to start this brand long before it existed.

You have a clear vision for how you want to present the brand.

Building a universe around our brand has always been important, and our connection to nature has been a key ingredient. We like to say that when it comes to designing clothes, we use the same book, but each collection is a new chapter.

When designing a new collection, we know precisely what references to pull from—we know which forest, cabin, and furniture to build around our brand.

This approach ensures that each collection maintains a consistent theme throughout the season. Initially, buyers were concerned about the subtle progression between collections, but they now appreciate this consistency.

 

Is there a philosophy or theme that you try to live by?

The word “Forét” is the French word for forest, and since the beginning, we’ve encouraged people to slow down and go outside. We’ve stayed true to our DNA.

And this message remains one of our strongest attributes. We’ve noticed that many brands we compete with or look to have changed their vision throughout the years, but we’ve remained consistent with ours.
